january 2014

This has been the coldest January in a Decade at least.  Below zero is the norm.  I have been knitting hats for Bri and mittens.  One more mitten and then back to her sweater.

I am going to Phoenix next week to visit my sister for a few days.  Can hardly wait.  I will bring Bri's sweater with me in hopes of finishing it.

Xmas started out with a case of shingles which I am still recovering from.  As of January I got cut 28 hours at my job at Coldwater Creek.  I am looking for a new job.  I am also considering moving from the house to the Condo to decrease my expenses.  Right now it seems like a great idea and then the planting season arrives and I just want to stay and garden.

I am selling fleece at DIGS in Minneapolis and that seems to be going quite well.  Had a great Cuban lunch at Victors on Grand in Minneapolis.

Check in after Phoenix

2014

Happy New Year.  So hoping its a good year.  Going to the roller skating rink with the kiddos today.
Hoping to have dinner with Nancy later and catch up on all her knitting projects.

I have been requested by a friend to knit some boot cuffs so I found a pattern on Ravelry for a simple pattern.  Knit on!

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2014

Well, here it is!  Looking forward to an exciting new year.  Last year I started selling my hand dyed fibers at Digs on grand Ave in minneapolis.  It has been successful!

Right now on needles I have a pair of pink baby mittens for Bri and a hat and sweater for Bri.  I hope to keep working on this soon but got sidetracked when I came down with shingles this week.

What's on your needles?

New Year -2014

It's almost 2014 and I still have plans to recreate Creative Fibers in Carver.  We are working on a space in downtown Carver to be open the third Weekend of each month.  In conjunction with another friend who likes natural,  holistic materials to make her crafts and food items this could be a very exciting year for us.

We have many ideas in the making and will keep you posted on our progress.  You will not be disappointed.
Have a Very Happy New Year!

May was a wash!

Now that May has been over for a couple weeks and we're coming up on the 1st day of summer, I am feeling a little more energized.

Our Farmer's Market has been postponed to July because of the weather.  We don't have much product to share until the weather gets warmer.  We will keep you posted.

Working on felted dryer balls.  Throw a few of these in with you dryer and it will help take out static and wrinkles.  Made of all natural wool.  $3.00 for 3.  My puppy also loves to chew on these.

Have a great Friday!

Bird Feeders

LINA IS A LITTLE CONFUSED!

Finished another Jacket and Bird feeder today.  If the snow ever stops maybe the birds will be able to nest.
This could be a cozy nest filled with fleece or seed depending on where you want to hang it.

Never ending winter

I am so hopeful that I will be able to get into my gardens soon.  I have started seeds in the house for the first time in years.  I wanted to get a jump start this year and now it's turned into the longest weather ever.

I usually plant pumpkins, watermelons, tomatoes, peppers and green beans.  Because I'm participating in the Farmer's market this year I hope to have some produce to share with folks.

I am also working on making my scrubs and hair rinses from all natural products.
I have also made up some natural air freshners, lemon and orange spice, and vanilla bean.  You simmer these in the glass jars on the stove or put them in a teapot.  They last for weeks, just keep adding water.  Smells wonderful in the house
